I decided to try and make a theory since I’ve seen so many
So Firstly, This whole theory is based on the idea that the things that happen in real life haunt the dreams of the boys. This is why sometimes it is hard to distinguish between what really is reality. So, the events of the music video did actually occur, but switch to a dream state in hope of conveying a different look. I have seen a lot of people reference the hand positions in this video and stating the Taehyun and Soobin are the ones who lied about something, but when I looked I saw something different. No one is promised anymore, here's why. The only two people to have their pinkies out are Yeonjun and Hueningkai,. Beomgyu's hand gesture is actually a shaka which is made by holding the hand in a loose fist and extending the thumb and pinky finger with the back of the hand facing the recipient. It is a sign of respect and mutual understanding for the recipient. In the photo concepts Beomgyu’s code is unfair. Beomgyu isn’t following any sort of rules when it comes to promises he respects all the members, but does tend to switch sides. Taehyun seems to be referencing a gun as his fingers are straight out and not crossed. I believe that he is the first to reach full maturity and suspicious of the other now because they seem to be hiding behind their childish ways which explains his seemingly distant mannerisms in the music video. Soobin has his finger crossed but I don't think he actually did anything. Soobin’s code is invisible, not guilty. Soobin takes the fall for one of the other members and causes a divide in the friendship where the others distance themselves from him because he is confused about doing something terrible. Yeonjun who is guilty is promising. He was the one who Soobin took the fall for. I believe Yeonjun is promising himself to never be left out again like he once was. He willingly let Soobin take the fall, though now he does regret it. Hueningkai hasn't done anything, in fact, he is the only one who doesn't know what is going on. Kai’s code is lonely probably because while the others are hating or forming alliances he was left out of the loop. He simply is mimicking Yeonjun because he believes in him. He was the first one to reconnect with yeonjun so I guess that's why.
I have more to say but don't know if I should.
